This workshop will focus on the H-1B visa category from the employee's perspective. Along with discussing the basics of the H-1B process, the workshop will highlight maintenance of status, options when employment ends, responsibility to the employer, and rights of the employee.

How to Maintain Status in the U.S.
This workshop will be in Question/Answer format. The presenter will give a brief overview of the definitions of status and overstay of status and will answer questions specific to this issue.

Introduction to Permanent Residency
This workshop will give a brief overview of the process for obtaining permanent residency (PR). It will cover topics such as special handling processing, PERM, and Outstanding Professor/Researcher qualifications. The workshop will also briefly discuss some of the rights and obligations associated with permanent residents.
