This session will introduce the International Career Pathways series, how to research options and timing of applications -- note that many deadlines are in the Fall.

- International Environmental Careers

Palmer Commons, 4th Floor, Great Lakes Room - This panel will feature international environmental professionals from organizations including the World Bank and World Wildlife Fund-Indonesia who will share their stories about their career paths, provide career advice and highlight opportunities to get started in an international environmental career. The panel will be immediately followed by a career networking event for students to meet one on one with panelists. - Career Opportunities for Foreign Language Students

Modern Languages Building (MLB), Room 2011 - Do you love studying languages and cultures, but are you worried what you'll "do with it" after graduation? Attend the "Career Opportunities for Language Students" panel for ideas about how you can put your interest in language to work.
- China Opportunities Forum

Room 1644, International Institute, School of Social Work Building, 1080 S. University - The China Opportunities Forum presents a unique opportunity for U-M’s China program participants to showcase their accomplishments and for these programs to be introduced and promoted to the greater U-M student body. Presentation formats may include: poster display of work accomplished in China and related activities, information stations promoting programs, and spoken testimonials.
- Funding for Internships and Research Abroad

Weill Hall, Room 1120, Annenberg Auditorium (Ford School of Public Policy building) - This panel will cover funding options for overseas internships and research opportunities, for both undergraduate and graduate/professional students. Representatives of several U-M funding offices will provide information.
- Careers & Internships in US Government Foreign Affairs
Tuesday Oct. 9, 5:00-6:30 PM
Weill Hall, Room 1120, Annenberg Auditorium (Ford School of Public Policy building) - Interested in a career formulating, representing, or implementing US foreign policy? This panel of State Department diplomats and student interns will talk about the foreign and civil service opportunities within the State Department and other federal agencies. Please note that State Department diplomacy careers require U.S. citizenship. The deadline for summer internships is November 1.
- Graduate Internships with the United Nations
Wednesday Oct. 10, noon-1:00 PM
Weill Hall, Room 1120, Annenberg Auditorium (Ford School of Public Policy building) - Each summer graduate students from a wide range of U-M programs accept (unpaid) internships with UN agencies in NY and around the world. Hear from a panel of interns about the nature of their UN work, as well as their tips and suggestions for identifying, securing and funding internships with the UN.
- Careers in International Health & Humanitarian Relief

Michigan Union, Kuenzel Room - Staff members from organizations (including U-M faculty members) involved in various aspects of international health and humanitarian relief will share the paths they took to reach their current positions, as well as discuss the key elements to preparing for a successful career in international health.
- Teaching and Volunteering Abroad
Wednesday Oct. 17, 7-8 PM
International Center Room 9 - Programs for teaching and volunteering abroad offer a vast range of opportunities in fields such as health, social work, natural resources and teaching English. Positions are available for undergraduate and graduate/professional students, as well as for those about to graduate. Find out about some well-established programs and follow up with their representatives (and others) at the International Opportunities Fair the following day.
- Global Careers in Information and Technology
Wednesday Oct. 17th, 7:30-9:00 PM
Michigan Union, Kuenzel Room - Employers representing a wide range of organizations will discuss international opportunities relating to engineering and information technology. Speakers will provide insight into these careers and discuss ways for students to prepare for international opportunities within these fields.
