Description: If you’ve been accepted to Peace Corps Prep, we invite you to join us for an orientation session at which you can expect to meet Peace Corps Prep advisors, the Peace Corps recruitment team, and your peers who are also new to the program!
Orientations will take place monthly, and all new members are required to attend once. More orientations will be scheduled throughout the year, so be sure to check back in the future, if you don’t see a time that works for you!
Description: Join us for this general information session about the Peace Corps! Learn about the work you could do as a Peace Corps Volunteer, where you could serve, and how to get involved today! There will be informal conversation following the session in the Dana Commons with Vania, the Peace Corps Campus Recruiter.
Description: Join Peace Corps Prep for a self-care workshop! Come learn strategies about how to manage your mental and emotional health in the Peace Corps. We’ll focus on coping skills, introduce you to campus resources for wellness, and hear perspectives from returned volunteers about practicing self-care in service.
Description: Complete your Peace Corps Prep Interview requirement in a group setting at an interview workshop presented by University Career Center staff and a U-M Peace Corps recruiter. This presentation will cover both universal interview tips, as those that are specific to the Peace Corps interview process. Lunch will be provided.
Note: Although this session is geared towards participants in the Peace Corps Prep Certificate Program, all prospective Peace Corps applicants are welcome to attend!
Description: You've heard of Peace Corps- you know the work sectors, about the countries of service, and maybe even about the post service benefits. But what do you actually DO as a volunteer? Come join us for our Coffee Chat about the day to day life of volunteers. Learn about a day at working on projects at site, unwinding in the capital, or the interesting hobbies volunteers develop during service.
Description: Join us for a casual info session on serving in the Peace Corps as a female. Topics will include health, safety, and relationships, and will also serve as a safe space for students to ask questions or express their concerns.
Description: Peace Corps Volunteers spend 2 years abroad, working with local community leaders to enact sustainable change. Come learn from Ginsberg Center staff and Returned Peace Corps Volunteers about what it means to engage in mutually beneficial partnerships with global communities. This workshop will be open to Peace Corps Prep students as well as any U-M students interested in international service.
