Note: These are percentages of reasonable and customary cost, which are the amounts that the insurance company will cover if it pays for services. You will ultimately receive services at the least cost, especially when totals might exceed $5000, by going to a Preferred Provider doctor or hospital, such as the University of Michigan Health System.
Current RatesInsurance premiums will be billed by the Student Financial Operations Office (not by the insurance company) once per month. Charges cannot be pro-rated. This means that if you have this insurance for any part of the month, you will be charged for the entire month. Insurance rates change every year on September 1. Rates usually increase; a decrease is rare. The current rates for 2009-2010 rates are listed below.
