Welcome to Winter 2026!

January 6, 2026

Welcome to 2026! The staff of the International Center is excited to welcome you back to campus for a new term. The International Center is committed to serving U-M international students, scholars, and employees. Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we’re glad you’re part of the U-M international community.

Check out our Winter 2026 Orientation webpage for new students and explore the resources webpage for practical information on a wide range of topics. Some orientation content, such as the “Winter in Michigan” video, may be helpful for everyone.

As always, the International Center is here to answer immigration-related questions you may have. For quick F-1 or J-1 student questions, come to our virtual drop-in advising to meet with an advisor via Zoom. The virtual drop-in advising is first come, first served and no appointment is needed. However, if your case is complicated and you need more time for consultation, make an appointment with us. Remember that you can also email us at [email protected] with your questions. Further contact information can be found here.

Last but not least, your health, safety, and well being is a priority. We would like to remind students that University Health & Counseling is available to provide physical and mental health support. Support for U-M employees is available from the Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO) or, for Michigan Medicine employees, from the Michigan Medicine Office of Counseling and Workplace Resilience. More wellness resources and tools can be found on this Well-being Collective website.

We look forward to a fulfilling and successful term together.
