Hosted in partnership with the University Career Center, the International Career Pathways event series highlights work abroad opportunities ranging from short-term internships to working internationally after graduation. Examples of events include How to Find & Fund an International Internship, Navigating the U.S. Job Search for International Students, and Teaching English Abroad After Graduation.

  • International Students Career Series - UCC Open House

    • This is a great opportunity to meet our team, tour the UCC (including the popular Clothes Closet & Photo Booth), build connections with our International student career team, and hear about the exciting initiatives we have planned for the upcoming academic year. You will have an opportunity to ask you questions with a career coach! This program is open to all students!
  • Go Blue Career Jam: Career Fair Prep For International Students

    • Join the University Career Center in a discussion about how to prepare for the upcoming job & internship fairs as an international student! In this session, we will talk about what to expect at a job& internship fair, researching for international student-friendly employers, and crafting strong elevator pitches. This event welcomes all students interested in learning and engaging with a space created to explore the intersections of professional development and international students.
  • International Opportunities Fair (a part of the Fall Job & Internship Fair)

    • The International Opportunities Fair will be held during Tuesday’s Fall Job & Internship Fair. This “fair within a fair” will showcase international internships and teaching English abroad opportunities.
  • International Student Career Series - Navigating On-Campus Job Search

    • Looking for a job on campus but not sure where to start? Join us for this interactive session designed to help international students explore the on-campus employment opportunities available at U-M. You’ll learn how to approach the application process with confidence, discover how campus jobs can help you build valuable skills for future career success, and find out how the University Career Center can support you throughout your journey. This program is open to all students—come ready to gain insights, ask questions, and take your first steps toward finding the right on-campus opportunity for you!

    • Join us in person to connect with fellow students who’ve had unique summer experiences in various fields! Whether you’re exploring career options, looking for advice on navigating similar opportunities, or simply want to be inspired by the journeys of your peers, this is the perfect opportunity to dive into real-world experiences. For this session, you’ll chat in small groups, ask questions, and connect with others who share your interests.

  • International Students Career Series: How to Navigate Small Talk

    • In the United States, many people participate in what is called small talk, where they make conversation with strangers or acquaintances about non-controversial topics, such as the weather, sports, or popular television shows. Small talk is one of the ways in American culture to chat about harmless topics to establish a connection and start to build a friendship.
      This workshop is open to all students, so if you are interested in learning more about small talk, now it’s your chance to sign up. In this workshop, we will educate you on what small talk is, and you will also have the chance to practice small talk with peers!
