Join us for a casual meet and greet with recently returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Amanda Guthu! Amanda is a first-year Master of Social Work student at the University of Michigan and a returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Community Economic Development in rural coastal Costa Rica from 2023 to 2025. She worked alongside a local Youth Association and the community’s water supplier on community-led projects focused on youth leadership, skills development, and sustainable tourism. Outside of her project work, she enjoyed learning local dances, hiking, and exploring Costa Rica’s biodiversity. In this presentation, she’ll share stories from her service, lessons learned, and insights for those considering their own Peace Corps journey.
