This webpage provides general information for international students at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor to find information related to funding resources.
International students who hold F-1 and J-1 visas are not eligible for U.S. federal financial aid but may be eligible for funding offered by U-M departments, depending on departmental policies.
It is important to understand that federal regulations require F-1 and J-1 visa holders to show evidence of sufficient financial support (i.e., bank statement, assistantship letter, etc.) for educational costs (i.e. tuition, student fees, health insurance, living expenses, etc.) while being in the F-1 or J-1 status in the U.S.
