International Coffee Hour is a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world! The event is open to all members of the U-M community, including international and U.S. students, scholars, faculty, staff and their partners.
Our October event will be held in partnership with CEW+ and will feature Fall-themed treats!
Culture Chat workshops discuss cultural norms and events in the United States! Refreshments will be made available, and you can speak with fellow international (and potentially some U.S. students!) about each topic.
Do you have a great photo from your experience at U-M, the state of Michigan, traveling around the U.S., or from your home country? The International Center invites current U-M international students and scholars to participate in our 2026 Photo Contest! Read more about submission requirements and contest rules.
Celebrate Halloween with the International Center! On Friday, October 30, stop by the IC lobby to enjoy cider & donuts (available while supplies last). Costumes encouraged!
Please register if you plan to stop by so that we can plan accordingly.
Come play a pick-up soccer game with the IC! This game will be played at Hubbard Road Recreation Field on North Campus. All are welcome!
This will be a very casual game and is meant for meeting other international students and scholars. We recommend bringing athletic clothing, cleats/gym shoes, and a water bottle (Hubbard Field does not have a drinking fountain).
Every country has norms for what is acceptable and unacceptable, and similarly for what is legal and illegal in that particular country. This session will offer important information on what is and is not permitted in the United States. Learn this information now; don’t risk being embarrassed, or even fined or arrested!
Are you new to driving in the United States? Driving conditions and customs may be different than what you are used to in your home country. This workshop will provide information to help you prepare for driving in the U.S., including driving tips, driving etiquette, and important skills to keep you safe on the roads in good and bad weather.
This workshop is co-sponsored by Michigan AAA.
