American Football 101

American football is a very popular sport in the U.S. U-M has one of the oldest football programs in the country and is home to Michigan Stadium (nicknamed “The Big House”). Many college students like to spend Saturdays watching college football, and attending on-campus sporting events is one way to show school spirit.

September International Coffee Hour

International Coffee Hour is a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world! The event is open to all members of the U-M community, including international and U.S. students, scholars, faculty, staff and their partners.

Our September event will be held in partnership with Information Technology Services (ITS). ITS staff will be in attendance to share resources and answer any questions you might have! This month’s coffee hour will feature an ice cream bar (while supplies last).

New Families Welcome Dinner

Welcome all new U-M student and scholar families! Join the International Center, the Center for the Education of Women+ (CEW+), Michigan Caregivers and Student Parents (MCaSP), the Mary A. Rackham Institute’s University Center for the Child and Family (UCCF), U-M’s Children’s Center, and Northwood Graduate & Family Housing for a welcome dinner at the Northwood Community Center Multipurpose Room (1000 McIntyre Drive).

August International Coffee Hour

Come meet new international students and learn about the Michigan Language Center (MLC)! This is a “meet and greet” event, so you can come and go at any time you like. The event will take place at the MLC. Snacks and drinks provided!

MLC is a private English language school in Ann Arbor, which makes it a great option for spouses/partners who are interested in improving their English language skills and finding community in Ann Arbor. So, spouses/partners are also welcome to attend this event!

June Soccer with the IC

Keep the World Cup energy going by playing a pick-up soccer game with the IC! This game will be played at Hubbard Road Recreation Field on North Campus. All are welcome!

This will be a very casual game and is meant for meeting other international students and scholars. We recommend bringing athletic clothing, cleats/gym shoes, and a water bottle (Hubbard Field does not have a drinking fountain).

June International Coffee Hour

Join us for the June International Coffee Hour!

Come meet new people, enjoy good conversation, and connect with members of the U-M community from around the world. Whether you’re an international or U.S. student, scholar, faculty member, staff member, or partner, you’re welcome to attend.

For our June gathering, we’re excited to partner with Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea UM Union. We hope to see you Friday morning!
