March International Coffee Hour

Join us for the March International Coffee Hour! Connect with new friends from across the globe and enjoy lively conversations in a relaxed, friendly setting. Whether you’re an international or U.S. student, scholar, faculty member, staff, or partner, all are welcome to be part of this U-M community event.

For our March event, we are heading to North Campus and will be joined by staff from the English Language Institute. We look forward to seeing you there! 

60 Minutes Around the Globe: India

60 Minutes Around the Globe is a program series hosted by the International House Ann Arbor (IHAA) and the International Center where members of the international community share a brief presentation about the culture and history of their home country. The presentation is followed by a time for discussion and enjoying light refreshments. Join us on Friday, March 14 at 1:30 PM as we learn about the culture and history of India, featuring Fulbright Scholar Sneha Sharma at the International House Ann Arbor (921 Church Street).

60 Minutes Around the Globe: Pakistan

60 Minutes Around the Globe is a program series hosted by the International House Ann Arbor (IHAA) and the International Center where members of the international community share a brief presentation about the culture and history of their home country. The presentation is followed by a time for discussion and enjoying light refreshments. Join us on Friday, February 13 at 3:00 PM as we learn about the culture and history of Pakistan at the International House Ann Arbor (921 Church Street). Snacks and refreshments will be served!

April Birthday Celebration

Join us as we celebrate international students and scholars with birthdays in April! We'll enjoy cake, coffee, and tea, and we encourage you to bring your friends together to celebrate your birthday! Meet us at the International House Ann Arbor (IHAA) located at 921 Church Street in Ann Arbor. Please register in advance so we can plan how much food to order.

Taste of Culture: Pączki Day at the IC

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026 many people in the state of Michigan will celebrate “Pączki Day'' (otherwise known as Fat Tuesday - the day before Ash Wednesday) by eating a jelly-filled pastry called a Pączki. Pączki (pronounced POONCH-kee) are Polish pastries that bakeries around Michigan and the Midwest will prepare one time per year in celebration of this holiday! In other parts of the United States, Fat Tuesday is recognized by the more widely known Mardi Gras festival.

How to Survive (and Thrive!) in a Michigan Winter

Is this your first time experiencing a cold winter and snow? Or, maybe this will not be your first winter in Michigan, but you would still like to hear from locals on how to be more comfortable during the winter months. In this session, we will give you some tips on how to survive a Michigan winter, including what to wear, how to be safe getting around Ann Arbor, what activities you can do, and more!

Winter hats and refreshments will be provided!
