International students are among those frequently targeted by scammers. This presentation discusses the scams faced by students at college, the warning signs to watch for and how students can protect themselves.

The presenters are committed to helping our community recognize, avoid, and report fraudulent activity. By understanding how scams work and knowing where to seek help, you can protect yourself and others.

60 Minutes Around the Globe: Tajikistan

Learn about Tajikistan and connect with others in the U-M international community at 60 Minutes Around the Globe. This program offers an opportunity to learn about a country’s culture and history through a brief presentation by community members with personal connections to that country. Afterward, continue the conversation, meet new people, and enjoy light refreshments together.

Registration is required so we can provide enough food for everyone.

The Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) is just blocks from the University of Michigan and hosts some amazing events and resources!

Meet at CEW+ for an introduction to the Center and lunch, then we'll walk over together for a tour of the library and library card sign-ups. Once you register for the event, we'll send you additional information about what to bring with you. Family members are encouraged to attend!

The Monthly International Student Impact Circle is an intimate gathering for international students across the University of Michigan to connect, reflect, and share experiences related to campus climate and life at U-M. This space is designed to support meaningful conversation around the changes and challenges that may be affecting international students.

Through facilitated dialogue, the series aims to build community, offer mutual support, and create room for reflection, processing, and healing.

60 Minutes Around the Globe: Azerbaijan

60 Minutes Around the Globe is a program series hosted by the International House Ann Arbor (IHAA) and the International Center where members of the international community share a brief presentation about the culture and history of their home country. The presentation is followed by a time for discussion and enjoying light refreshments. Join us on Friday, March 20 at 3:00 PM as we learn about the culture and history of Azerbaijan at the International House Ann Arbor (921 Church Street). Snacks and refreshments will be served!

Personal Safety Strategies for International Students [Cancelled]

Join DPSS and the International Center for a special session of their Early Intervention & Personal Safety Strategies workshop. This training emphasizes situational awareness so you can spot and avoid potential trouble, recognize escalating behaviors, and use techniques for safely intervening and responding when a person is posing a risk. Snacks will be provided.
