Join Arts at Michigan’s Art Meetups, co-presented by the International Center and the Arts Initiative, for casual group outings to performances, exhibitions, films, and other creative events around U-M and Ann Arbor. Whether you’re new to campus, new to the arts, or simply looking to connect with others, Art Meetups offer a welcoming way to explore Michigan’s vibrant creative scene with fellow students.

This month’s meetup will be for the Introductory Woodcarving at the Ann Arbor District Library, where you will learn how to carve two different alligators!

Come play a pick-up soccer game with the IC! This game will be played at Hubbard Road Recreation Field on North Campus. All are welcome!

This will be a very casual game and is meant for meeting other international students and scholars. We recommend bringing athletic clothing, cleats/gym shoes, and a water bottle (Hubbard Field does not have a drinking fountain).

To compliment our Peer-to-Peer Conversation (P2P Conversation) workshops, we will be hosting a series of live question & answer (Q&A) sessions! These will have an office-hours format, so feel free to drop in for a few minutes or stay for the full hour!  

Join Heather Moore, PhD, Assistant Director of Financial Education and Engagement at U-M, for an informal and practical overview of banking in the United States.

We’ll cover the basics, including what to expect when opening a bank account, common account types, terms and fees, debit vs. credit cards, and safety tips to protect your identity and credit information. There will be time for questions and answers.

Learn the essentials, reduce the guesswork, and start your U-M journey ready for U.S. banking! 

International Student Lunch Conversation (ISLC) is a casual time and space for international students to connect with each other and talk about life as an international student in the U.S. and at U-M.

July’s ISLC will take place at the Shapiro Library’s Shapiro Gallery (Room 3160) from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided!

The Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) is just blocks from the University of Michigan and hosts some amazing events and resources!

Meet at CEW+ for an introduction to the Center and lunch, then we'll walk over together for a tour of the library and library card sign-ups. Once you register for the event, we'll send you additional information about what to bring with you. Family members are encouraged to attend!
