Eid al-Fitr Dinner

The International Center Student Council, in collaboration with the Saudi Students Association, is excited to host an Eid al-Fitr dinner for the U-M community. This event is open to all students, scholars and their family members.

Exciting features of the event will also include a selfie-station, games, and children's prizes/activities! SSA members will also prepare authentic Saudi coffee!

Dinner will be provided, so please RSVP. This will ensure we have enough food/drink!

60 Minutes Around the Globe: Azerbaijan

60 Minutes Around the Globe is a program series hosted by the International House Ann Arbor (IHAA) and the International Center where members of the international community share a brief presentation about the culture and history of their home country. The presentation is followed by a time for discussion and enjoying light refreshments. Join us on Friday, March 20 at 3:00 PM as we learn about the culture and history of Azerbaijan at the International House Ann Arbor (921 Church Street). Snacks and refreshments will be served!

Personal Safety Strategies for International Students [Cancelled]

Join DPSS and the International Center for a special session of their Early Intervention & Personal Safety Strategies workshop. This training emphasizes situational awareness so you can spot and avoid potential trouble, recognize escalating behaviors, and use techniques for safely intervening and responding when a person is posing a risk. Snacks will be provided.

StudyAbroad.com Info Sessions

StudyAbroad.com is a study abroad provider that offers no-frills programs, affordable pricing, and nontraditional destinations. 

Chloe Gordon, a University Outreach Specialist will be on campus on March 11 to give two info sessions to U-M students interested in studying abroad through StudyAbroad.com You only need to attend one of the info sessions, as the sessions at 1 PM and 2 PM will cover the same information.

February International Student Lunch Conversation

International Student Lunch Conversation (ISLC) is a casual time and space for international students to connect with each other and talk about life as an international student in the U.S. and at U-M.

February’s ISLC will take place at the Hatcher Graduate Library’s Gallery Event Space from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided!

ISLCs are co-sponsored by the U-M Library, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and the International Center.

Somerset Mall Shopping Trip

Somerset Collection is a shopping mall of more than 180 retailers. It also features a food court on the third level.

Cost

$9/person for round trip transportation. NO REFUNDS. You will need to bring money for shopping and food. Students, scholars, and family members are welcome. Same price for all, regardless of age (children 2 and under are free, provided they sit on a lap and do not take up a seat on the bus). All children must be accompanied by an adult.

February International Coffee Hour

International Coffee Hour is a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world! The event is open to all members of the U-M community, including international and U.S. students, scholars, faculty, staff and their partners.

Our February International Coffee Hour will be held in partnership with the Office of Global Activities in the School of Social Work. It will feature a Valentine’s Day theme with optional Valentine’s Day craft activities.
