Now Hiring: International Center Summer Orientation Peer Advisors

The International Center (IC) is currently hiring Summer Orientation Peer Advisors (SOPA) to support new international students who will begin their studies at the University of Michigan (U-M) - Ann Arbor the Fall 2026 semester.

Through this position, you can expect to improve your communication skills, gain leadership experience, and assist new international students as they adjust to life in Ann Arbor. You may even make some new friends along the way!

Public Health Travel Restrictions to Prevent the Introduction of Ebola Disease into the United States

On May 18, 2026, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced targeted travel restrictions “to protect the health of the United States from the serious risk posed by the introduction of Ebola disease into the United States by covered aliens based on the emergent outbreak of Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus  strain confirmed present in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda.” The travel restrictions apply for a period of 30
