Ema joined the International Center in August 2015. She advises on H-1B, TN and E-3 status issues. She grew up in the former Yugoslavia (Serbia) and was an international student at the University of Michigan herself! She graduated from the U of M with a degree in music performance and then went to Michigan State College of Law where she obtained her J.D. degree. After law school, Ema practiced law in private practice for seven years, before joining the IC. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She speaks several languages, including Serbo-Croatian. When she is not working, Ema takes care of her two little children. She is an avid runner, and also loves tennis and scuba diving.
