Jake joined the GEEA team in November 2016. Originally from Troy, Michigan, he received his BA in History from the University of Michigan. His interest in international education stemmed from his decision to study abroad in London, England as an undergraduate. After graduating, he taught English in Madrid, Spain for two years. Both of his experiences abroad allowed him to learn about many different cultures by traveling throughout Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Morocco.
Jake returned to the United States to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his MS in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with a specialization in Global Higher Education. At UW-Madison, he worked in programming at the International Student Services office. His research focused on strategies to foster interaction between international and domestic students and make studying abroad more accessible for underrepresented students. Besides traveling, Jake loves playing sports, listening to Motown music, and watching Netflix.
