Ugo joined the University of Michigan as a Faculty & Staff Immigration Adviser in September 2016, after having previously served in the position from 2013-2014. He advises on H-1B, TN, E-3 and Permanent Residency issues. Prior to joining the International Center in 2013, he served as an Assistant State's Attorney in Chicago, Illinois, and has also practiced law in the area of commercial litigation. Ugo attended graduate school at the University of Michigan prior to attending law school at Michigan State University College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and Illinois Bar, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He is originally from Lima, Peru and is fluent in Spanish.  In his free time, Ugo enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and is an avid soccer fan.
