The Assistant Director for International Student and Scholar Services at the International Center has been recognized with the prestigious David D. Horner Award

Scott Manley, the Assistant Director for International Student and Scholar Services, received the David D. Horner Award at the 2024 MAIE (Michigan Association of International Educators) conference.

This award was established in 2002 to recognize an international educator who demonstrates exceptional service in mentoring for their state. Qualifications include 10+ years of experience in the field of International Education, with at least five of those years in Michigan. Service to the state includes both support of the MAIE team as well as mentoring and guidance to other professionals across Michigan.

Throughout his career, Scott has served numerous roles on both MAIE and NAFSA Region V leadership teams. He has also presented extensively on a variety of topics related to immigration at state, regional, and national conferences. His award nomination specifically recognizes that his colleagues appreciate his availability  for consultation and collaboration.
