New Student Welcome Dinner - Winter 2025

Description: Welcome to Michigan! The International Center is excited to welcome you all to campus by hosting a dinner at South Quad Dining Hall. This is a great opportunity to meet other international students who started their programs in the Winter 2025 semester! This is an informal gathering, but please arrive between 6-7pm. From there you can grab some food in the dining hall, and join us in our designated area to eat and mingle.

How to Survive (and Thrive!) in a Michigan Winter

Description: Is this your first time experiencing a cold winter and snow?  Or, maybe this will not be your first winter in Michigan, but you would still like to hear from locals on how to be more comfortable during the winter months.  In this session, we will give you some tips on how to survive a Michigan winter, including what to wear, how to be safe getting around Ann Arbor, what activities you can do, and more!

Food and winter drinks will be provided.

Description: Need a break from studying for final exams? Join us for a winter-themed guided paint session at North Quad, Space 2435! All art supplies and canvases will be provided, and no experience is necessary. Food and beverages will be provided as well! Registration is required to attend.

Off-Campus Housing Q&A

Join this virtual session to learn more about off campus housing options in the Ann Arbor area! This event will be facilitated by the International Center and is designed for new international students. We will be joined by a representative from Beyond the Diag, U-M’s Off Campus Housing program within the Dean of Students Office, and a Housing Attorney from Student Legal Services. Please bring any questions you may have!
