Description: Join the International Center, the African Studies Center, and the U-M Library for a film screening and discussion on African student experiences with Ghanaian filmmaker, Arthur Musah. His documentary, “Brief Tender Light,” follows four undergraduate African students during and following their enrollment at MIT as they strive to become agents of change for their home countries Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

- 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: (Main Event) Discussion with Arthur Musah (filmmaker) moderated by Professor Omolade Adunbi, Director of the African Studies Center
The discussion with Arthur Musah will be moderated by Professor Omolade Adunbi, Director of the African Studies Center at U-M.
For those that have not seen the film, there will be an optional film screening prior to the discussion starting at 5:00 PM and ending at 6:30 PM (Run time: ~90 minutes). University of Michigan Library patrons can also stream the documentary courtesy of the U-M Library system using this link. During the discussion, a brief video (10 minutes) will be shown that offers a synopsis of the film for attendees who have not yet seen the documentary.
Dinner will be provided starting at 6:30 PM.
