The Institute of International Education (IIE) has released its 2018 Open Doors report, which is a comprehensive source of data on international students studying at higher education institutions in the United States, and on U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit at their home colleges or universities. According to Open Doors, U-M was ranked third in the nation for the number of study abroad students in 2016-17 (the most recent academic year with Open Doors data), and was ranked sixteenth in the nation for the number of international students in 2017. The International Center’s 2018 statistical report has University of Michigan international student and scholar data for the current academic year, and the Facts and Figures page of the Global Michigan website links to extensive data related to education abroad at the University of Michigan.
