Boonsiree re-joined the International Center in November 2021 as an Advisor after having previously worked as an Immigration Assistant from 2017-2020. Boonsiree was born and raised in Thailand. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in German from a university in Bangkok. She first came to the US on a J-1 visa, and returned as an F-1 student for her Master’s Degree at Central Michigan University. Boonsiree has years of experience working with both F-1 and J-1 programs and held both F-1 and J-1 visas. Her own international experiences taught her how important it is for newcomers to feel welcomed. She is looking forward to helping students and scholars adjust to their new environment, connecting them with U-M and its resources, and helping make sure they maintain their immigration status.
Boonsiree enjoys traveling and exploring different places, both in and out of country. She spends her free time with her husband and her two sons. She also enjoys discovering and trying out new recipes and sharing them with friends and family.
