Cost: $15/person. NO REFUNDS. You will need to bring money for food, shopping, and any other entertainment. Students, scholars, and family members are welcome. Same price for all, regardless of age (children 2 and under are free, provided they sit on a lap and do not take up a seat on the bus). All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration: In order to reserve your spot for this trip, you can pay online or in-person at the Michigan Union Ticket Office (MUTO), which is located in the underground level of the Michigan Union. If you are paying in-person, ask for the International Center’s Detroit Day Trip. Cash or credit cards are accepted. When purchasing the tickets, you must use a promo code and provide a phone number and email (in case of emergency during the trip). Limited space is available and each person is allowed to purchase up to two tickets.

Update: This trip is sold out and we do not keep a waitlist. If you were unable to purchase a ticket and still wish to come, on the day of the trip, bring the exact amount of cash ($15 per person) for the trip and meet us at the pick-up location (outside the Student Activities Building on Jefferson Street). This will be “first come, first served”, so we cannot guarantee you will be able to get on the bus.

Pick-up/Drop-off Location Departure Time
Outside the Student Activities Building on Jefferson Street 9:00 AM
Detroit, Michigan (Downtown) 3:00 PM

We recommend that you arrive at the pick-up location 10-15 minutes early. The bus will depart Detroit at 3:00 PM and arrive back in Ann Arbor around 4:00 PM. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.

Event Description: Join the International Center on a day trip to Detroit!  We will begin the day with a walking tour of Downtown Detroit, where we will learn about the history of the city and see some of its most famous landmarks. We will then have a few hours of free time to grab lunch and explore the city. You are welcome to go shopping, go to a museum, or just walk around the city -- whatever you prefer!

This trip includes transportation to and from Detroit and the Downtown walking tour.

Important: If you need any special accommodations, please email us as soon as possible and provide detailed information.
