Join us for April International Coffee Hour, an opportunity to connect with people from all corners of the globe! Open to the entire University of Michigan community - including international and U.S. students, scholars, faculty, staff, and their partners - this event offers a welcoming space to meet new friends and relax during a busy time of year.

Our April gathering will feature tote bag decorating to help you unwind during finals. We'll be joined by staff from the University Career Center. All are welcome!

International Student Lunch Conversation (ISLC) is a casual time and space for international students to connect with each other and talk about life as an international student in the U.S. and at U-M.

April’s ISLC will take place at the Hatcher Graduate Library’s Gallery Event Space from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided!

Come play a pick-up soccer game with the IC! This game will be played at Hubbard Road Recreation Field on North Campus. All are welcome!

This will be a very casual game and is meant for meeting other international students and scholars. We recommend bringing athletic clothing, cleats/gym shoes, and a water bottle (Hubbard Field does not have a drinking fountain).

The International Center is excited to celebrate the academic achievement of our international graduates! Anyone wishing to be recognized as part of the international student community is invited to register.

Traveling as a student can be an amazing experience, but it can also be challenging if you are not well-prepared. This presentation will provide a general guide to help you prepare for smart and safe travel. Key points will include what to pack, transportation options, finding accommodation, budgeting, and more.

Lunch & Learn events are designed to help students understand tricky U.S. cultural subjects. Join our series to ask questions, gain cultural context and learn more about U.S. history and culture! 

October's Lunch & Learn event will feature a guest presenter from the Ginsberg Center to discuss the 2026 U.S. Midterm Election. What are those TV commercials all about? What are people voting for? How can I discuss election topics with my U.S. peers? Join to get these topics answered, and as other burning questions you may have!

Lunch will be provided.

The Monthly International Student Impact Circle is an intimate gathering for international students across the University of Michigan to connect, reflect, and share experiences related to campus climate and life at U-M. This space is designed to support meaningful conversation around the changes and challenges that may be affecting international students.

Through facilitated dialogue, the series aims to build community, offer mutual support, and create room for reflection, processing, and healing.

Join the International Center on a day trip to Detroit!  We will begin the day with a walking tour of Downtown Detroit, where we will learn about the history of the city and see some of its most famous landmarks.  We will then have a few hours of free time to grab lunch and explore the city.  You are welcome to go shopping, go to a museum, or just walk around the city -- whatever you prefer!

This trip includes transportation to and from Detroit and the Downtown walking tour.

The International Center Student Council is excited to host our 2026 International Student Formal! This event is open to students of all study levels.

This event will give international students an elegant evening of celebration in community! The event will include dancing/DJ, photobooth, tarot card reader, hors d'oeuvres and more!

Students are encouraged to come "dressed to impress" in black-tie formal attire, but cultural formal attire is also encouraged!

For our March event, we are heading to North Campus and will be joined by staff from the English Language Institute. We look forward to seeing you there!
