Katherine Flanner

Katherine joined the International Center in 2009 and worked initially as an Immigration Assistant both on the F admissions side and then on the J side. She was hired into the advising role in the Summer of 2014.

Katherine Yang

Katherine joined the International Center in 2015 as an Immigration Assistant. She studied abroad to Japan in high school and college. Following graduation she worked in Korea as an ESL instructor while pursuing her Masters in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education.

Katherine was born and raised in Michigan. She especially enjoys trips up north, skiing, backpacking and hiking.

Laure Bordas-Isner

Laure has been working in the field of international education for several years. She grew up in France. She studied abroad in Auckland, New Zealand as an undergraduate student, and then came to the U.S. as an F-1 student and J-1 research scholar.

Boonsiree Nuveman

Boonsiree re-joined the International Center in November 2021 as an Advisor after having previously worked as an Immigration Assistant from 2017-2020. Boonsiree was born and raised in Thailand. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in German from a university in Bangkok. She first came to the US on a J-1 visa, and returned as an F-1 student for her Master’s Degree at Central Michigan University. Boonsiree has years of experience working with both F-1 and J-1 programs and held both F-1 and J-1 visas. Her own international experiences taught her how important it is for newcomers to feel welcomed.

Monica Roskamp

Monica joined the ISSA team in September 2016 and is an alumna of the University of Michigan.  She returns to Michigan after working in business immigration law firm environments for approximately 8 years in Chicago and New York.  She is enjoying the opportunity to help international students and scholars at her alma mater.

Monica is originally from Michigan and in her spare time enjoys traveling, photography, cooking and being a foodie. 

Matt Priest

Matt happily returned to the International Center in November 2021 after spending the preceding five years as a Consular Officer with the U.S. Department of State.  His experience working in Mexico City and Tbilisi, Georgia, conducting 10,000+ visa interviews, provided him with valuable insight for an International Student & Scholar Advisor.

Brittany Widin

Brittany joined the International Center in the Summer of 2019 as a cross country transplant from California. Brittany first encountered the International Education field as an undergrad, working in the International Programs office at California State University, Sacramento. During her final term as an undergrad, she studied on exchange at University of Western Ontario in Canada. Brittany enjoys the challenges of navigating complex immigration regulation and appreciates being able to serve as a guide for international students as they pursue their dreams in the U.S.

Tyler Morkin

Tyler Morkin joined the International Center in July 2021. Prior to U-M, he worked as the SEVIS Coordinator at Central Michigan University. He has also taught various classes in ESL, academic writing, introductory linguistics, and French. Tyler has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages both from Central Michigan University.
