International Center Pauses Open-to-the-Public Office Hours

Effective Friday, January 29th, the International Center will pause its daily open-to-the-public office hours, in light of the Washtenaw County Health Department’s Stay In Place Recommendation, which impacts all U-M students.

IC staff will work remotely, hold virtual appointments, respond to emails, and return voicemails during this time.  IC staff will come into the office regularly to check mail, process applications that require wet signatures, and mail time-sensitive documents.  All services and functions of the IC will continue except in-person transactions. This is similar to how the IC operated last year from mid-March through mid-August.

The Student Activities Building (SAB) where the IC is located will not be open at least through February 7th.  Should the SAB change operating hours, we will post an update on the IC website.

How to contact IC staff:

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we must prioritize community health and safety at this time.  We will re-evaluate whether we will continue in this remote manner or return to holding open-to-the-public hours and share any updates on the IC website.  Should we offer office hours, they will be on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday (10-noon; 1-3pm) schedule, as previously announced

The university created a special webpage regarding the new COVID-19 Variant B.1.1.7. Please be mindful of COVID related precautions and the campus-based measures on the Maize and Blueprint website.
